Network Architect Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Network Architect to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies;
- Develop technology standards and network deployment templates;
- Maintain multiple advanced manufacturer specific advanced certifications. i.e.: CCIE, R/S. Voice, Brocade, CISSP, VCDX, UCS;
- Performs network modeling, analysis, and planning;
- Assist the Services Director with resource management;
- Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls is preferred;
- Work with the Services Director to set training goals for each member of team;
- Research, design and develop repeatable solutions for customer IT needs;
- Continuing education of relevant certifications that would benefit the Lead Technical Architect role;
- Day-to-day operational support of network infrastructure and services;
- Manage technical development and team satisfaction of employees;
- Translate requirements into design specifications;
- Provide guidance to Customers on best design practices in the areas of IP/MPLS core and services architecture. Acting as an IP/MPLS consultant;
- Frequently interacts with suppliers to influence their products and services in directions favorable to the enterprise;
- Stay abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving competitors.
Requirements:
- Seven plus years of experience as a network engineer managing enterprise data center networks;
- Infrastructure automation experience (Ansible, Python, Terraform, Cloud Formation);
- Cyber Security Awareness;
- Strong Private and Public Cloud design and implementation experience;
- Strong knowledge with MPLS, IS-IS, BGP, OSPF, RSVP-TE, LDP, VPLS, MPLS L3VPNs, EVPNs, VxLAN and SDN;
- Working knowledge of supporting and managing Linux systems;
- Working knowledge of Switching Platforms Cat3K, 4K, 6K, SUP6e/6le/7e/7le/8e;
- Excellent verbal and written communication;
- Preferred Certifications: CCNA Customer service oriented;
- Working knowledge of Routing platforms ISR 2900, 3900, 4400 and ASR 1000;
- Working knowledge of CWDM, DWDM and optical networking technologies;
- High-performance I/O technologies, including fiber channel and Infiniband;
- Experience working with load balancing platforms, including A10, Citrix, and F5 Networks;
- Experience with Agile and Scrum principles and practices;
- Knowledge of the film making process, from pre-production through distribution.
