Network Systems Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Network Systems Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced level support for a variety of clients with a variety of network configurations/setups;
- Vibrant and willing to contribute to a fun atmosphere;
- Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized;
- Setup, configure and support virtualized environments using VMware or HyperV;
- Design solutions that are cost effective and meet the client’s needs;
- Setup and configure and troubleshoot Juniper, SonicWALL and/or Cisco firewall network devices;
- Experience using ConnectWise is a plus;
- Serve as a top tier escalation resource on complex support issues;
- Strong critical and analytical problem solving skills;
- Be able to effective manage multiple projects ranging in size and complexity;
- Excellent verbal and written communication;
- 6+ years of recent, relevant hands-on IT Experience;
- Manage Wi-Fi infrastructure deployment, upgrades, tuning and maintenance;
- Technical and process documentation following the Gallery’s tools and standards;
- Citrix remote access support will include reviewing, configuring, and/or updating NetScaler and XenApp resources to address remote access needs.
Requirements:

- Strong critical and analytical problem solving skills;
- Minimum BS or BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or Management, or commensurate experience is preferred;
- Minimum of Five (5) years of experience working with federal government;
- Other duties as required;
- A combination of Ten (10) years of IT experience related to Systems Integration, Database Administration, and IT Operations;
- Experience with Asset Management tools and technologies (e.g. BMC ADDM, Dell KACE, Microsoft System Center (SCCM, SCOM), IBM BigFix);
- Prepare data network diagrams and drawings to document and assist in communicating current operational status of networks;
- Install network applications on Cisco network server’s equipment; Maintain, tests, research and resolve network issues;
- Able to conduct and interpret quantitative or qualitative analysis;
- Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) specific tools (e.g. Flexera, Aspera, SNOW, Ivanti, ServiceNow) is a plus;
- Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving skills, including the ability to accumulate, organize, and assimilate large amounts of data;
- Provide technical guidance/ recommendations for network architecture;
- Working knowledge of Software Asset Management (SAM) principles and practices.
