Senior IT Systems Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage on premise and cloud-based tenant migrations to Microsoft Azure and Office 365, including data center environment and new acquisitions;
- Monitor and optimize cloud workloads and performance;
- All aspects of designing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting global Microsoft environment;
- Build, monitor, and manage the cloud infrastructure;
- Ensure security is integrated into all cloud services;
- Any and all responsibilities deemed necessary by management;
- Develop roadmaps for current and future deployments;
- Review current and future AWS implementations with the sectors in ISD and suggest ways to improve and standardize the cloud offerings;
- Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud;
- Establish implementation standards and methods such as configuration and change management;
- Identity Management: Azure Active Directory, Windows Active Directory, MFA, SAML;
- Microsoft Azure cloud architecture design, support and cloud services application evaluations and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Experience designing and managing an internal network infrastructure to enable a distributed and secure global presence;
- Linux is your platform;
- Maintain and support production, test, and development environments;
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and services;
- Drive for solving complex technical problems;
- General advanced troubleshooting skills including debugging network, security, AD, database and application errors;
- Disaster Recovery – Maintain backups; provide system restore and look at best practices to enhance this critical area;
- Install, test, implement and maintain vendor application software releases;
- Develop policies and formal documentation IT systems and process;
- Work with Security and Network team to design remote access strategy to accommodate the needs of the business and virtual employees;
- Corporate IT systems, project planning, design, implementation, documentation and maintenance;
- You’re a team-player and you’re excited about mentoring and supporting internal users;
- Deep technical background (operating systems, networking, application performance management, load balancing, security systems, etc.);
- Experience in building large distributed systems;
- Strong scripting skills and familiarity with monitoring tools.
