Our company is looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Share your thoughts about how to make the company a better place to work, improve the creative process, and help deliver better games;
  • Develop and maintain art asset pipelines;
  • Be proactive. Develop and implement new ideas/solutions to problems as they arise;
  • Mentor and guide team members in areas of expertise; instill best practices;
  • Take the initiative to identify, prioritize, call-out, and suggest solutions to problems both big and small;
  • Assist in various areas of game art production to help assure the timely delivery of the product;
  • Profile and implement solutions for improving performance and optimization of art assets;
  • Partner with developers to build workflows, tools, engine, editor, and rendering features;
  • Write scripts to automate and streamline asset creation, content management and improve general workflow;
  • Assist with the management and integration of art and animation assets and ensure are optimal for performance and memory;
  • Work through ambiguity while still delivering timely and high-quality results;
  • Communicate and work closely with artists, designers and engineers to support features and content creation;
  • Provide mentorship, feedback, and training to others on the team;
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in character rig and creation and skinning;
  • Integrate assets in Unity without sacrificing artistic vision or exceeding technical limits of minimum specification mobile devices.

Requirements:

  • A customer first mentality;
  • Familiar with UE4 blueprints or equivalent visual scripting;
  • Strict use of code names and complete confidentiality of project information for as long as its required;
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and extensible code with attention to reusability;
  • A passion for games;
  • Working knowledge in C++ is preferred, along with Python / PySide and MEL with knowledge of 2D/3D art packages;
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating strong proficiency as a Technical Artist;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Extensive demonstrated knowledge of Maya/Max/Houdini and the ability to extend the capabilities of these packages via plugin APIs;
  • Proven track record working with real-time engines;
  • Experience with HLSL shader creation;
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python and C#
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and ability to script in various languages such as Python/C++/C#/HLSL/GLSL/Lua;
  • 3+ years experience in technical art;
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Maya and Unity3D.
