Server Administrator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Server Administrator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Set up equipment for new users;
- Keep systems up-to-date through operating systems upgrades;
- Point of Contact: assist users with software, hardware, and connectivity issues;
- Modify configurations, utilities, software, etc;
- Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new software and features;
- Monitor networking equipment and servers;
- Oversee troubleshooting for system errors;
- Monitor web performance, network availability, and security;
- Respond to IT issues; hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc;
- Implement Automation of task leveraging Powershell;
- Handle on call after hours support on a rotating schedule;
- Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems;
- Job schedule after 1 month will be Thursday through Monday 8am-5pm;
- Will be lone support person in the office Saturday and Sunday;
- Provides problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
Requirements:
- Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience;
- CompTIA Net+ Certification Preferred;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- VMWare and Veem;
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently;
- Associates degree preferred;
- Computer Networking;
- Experience working with network and server management support;
- Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required;
- Coding / Programming Skills;
- CompTIA A+ Certification Preferred;
- Microsoft Operating Systems;
- Candidates with previous experience providing system administration in an IT environment;
- Designing and building Hyper V virtualization environments;
- Strong Powershell scripting experience.
