Apprentice Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Apprentice Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work;
- Adhere to all industry standards, codes and regulations;
- Complete technical training and participate in the company’s training program;
- Prepare for projects by reviewing the information provided to you in the project folder and during the pre-project briefing;
- Furnish and maintain basic hand tool load out;
- Work independently and with other employees or contractors in a polite and professional manner;
- Able to work overtime and weekends if requested;
- Able to work 12 hour shifts if necessary. *This is rare, but it does occasionally happen;
- Must be able to climb ladders, occasionally perform work in high lift equipment, distinguish colors, and lift up to 50 pounds;
- Manage project and vehicle inventory and perform weekly inventory reports. Maintain a neat and orderly vehicle;
- Assisting in developing and maintaining project documentation;
- Assisting and maintaining the design of temperature control systems\project planning and scheduling;
- Project checkout, turnover, training and lessons learned;
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed;
- Project start-up.
Requirements:
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team;
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time;
- Automotive service experience in the Tire/Lube industry is a plus;
- Automotive Trade/Technical School is also a plus;
- Drivers license & insurance;
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs;
- A successful track record of employment;
- A superior level of customer service that promotes goodwill between the company, customer, and other associates;
- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment;
- Strong sense of urgency;
- A fast-track transition to full-time employment and excellent starting certified technician wages after graduation;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Associate’s degree, or equivalent from two-year college or technical training; and/or;
- A Stay-On Bonus of $1,000 after 1 year of full-time employment with an additional $2,000 after 3 years;
- 2+ years experience in HVAC experience and/or training.
