Skilled Laborer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Skilled Laborer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in building structures for commercial and residential construction sites;
- Provides assistance to subcontractors;
- Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools, and distributes them to the appropriate locations;
- Participates in demolitions;
- Erects and disassembles scaffolding, braces, barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures;
- Erects concrete forms and scaffolding;
- Uses spray guns for application of material to ceilings or walls, applies caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns;
- Related duties may be assigned as necessary;
- Mops, brushes, or spreads paints, cleaning solutions or other compounds over surfaces to clean them or to provide protection;
- Performs heavy physical labor;
- Prior underground construction and directional drilling experience is a plus;
- Operate construction equipment;
- Handle physically demanding construction duties;
- Work as a part of a crew/ drive Crew Truck to job sites for underground utility operations;
- Assist team members in placing underground conduit, manual labor and shovel work.
Requirements:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables;
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions; must be able to communicate verbally and in writing to co-workers and supervisors;
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in commercial construction;
- Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance required;
- Current DOT Medical Card;
- Experience working with hand tools and power tools;
- Must be willing to follow all DOT requirements in addition to company requirements (inspections, drivers log, reports, etc.);
- MUST have Valid Class A CDL Drivers’ license, with Tanker Endorsement;
- Hard working and reliable;
- Must currently have or the ability to obtain a medical DOT card;
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR);
- General painting experience;
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen & background checks upon formal offer of employment;
- Basic carpentry or construction experience.
