Medical Collections Specialist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Medical Collections Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding the difference between Medicare and Medicare Advantage;
- Knowledge navigating payer portals;
- Epic experience is a plus;
- Follow up with payers regarding denials and how to research and work appeals;
- Strong understanding interpreting managed care (commercial) contracts;
- Checking claims status;
- Account Receivable on insurance accounts (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance);
- Process claim denials and appeals;
- Investigate what can be done to get the claim paid.
Requirements:
- Must have previous collections experience;
- Medical terminology is a plus;
- Must have great written and verbal communication skills.
