Server Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Server Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provides assistance to our Guests when needed;
- Cleans tables;
- Uniforms and/or clothing should always be “on stage clean”
- Keep the Host Area stocked with take-away menus, toothpicks, business cards, and other necessary items;
- Adhere to organization policies and procedures;
- Inform management of guests who are unhappy with the service as quickly as possible;
- Excellent emotional self-awareness under pressure;
- Professional appearance and grooming standards appropriate for a premier fine dining restaurant;
- Assist servers in resetting and bussing tables;
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant serving experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant/luxury hotel;
- Superior attendance and punctuality;
- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person;
- Clean menus as required throughout the shift;
- An appetite for providing memorable hospitality;
- Observe tables and take note of dirty, clean, and occupied tables.
Requirements:
- Be able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, and walk/ stand for extended periods of time;
- Requires walking / standing; lifting, stooping, forward bending, crouching and sitting;
- Make sue that all guests have the things they need;

- Clean tables after guests have finished dining;
- Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands after using restroom, etc.);
- Clean and roll/unroll mats;
- Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster;
- Remove serving dishes from tables and take them to the kitchen for cleaning;
- Basic knowledge of food presentation, preparation and handling;
- Be able to communicate clearly and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests;
- Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance, and/or safety;
- High school or equivalent education required;
- Remove trash and garbage to dumpster;
- Punctuality and regular/reliable attendance.
