Electrician II Job Description

Electrician II inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected. Being an Electrician II uses a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. Has at least two years of journeyman level electrical experience. Additionally, Electrician II typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Typically requires an Electrician’s license from the state. The Electrician II has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. To be an Electrician II typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may have 2 years experience plus an associates degree, or additional training or certification.

Our company is looking for a Electrician II to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Reading blueprints and schematics to wire accordingly;
  • Designing and building machine controls using UFDs and PLCs;
  • Service and maintain 480V/208V distribution equipment;
  • Installing conduit, wire, and cable to NEC standards;
  • Troubleshooting and repairing lighting control systems and devices.

Requirements:

  • Follow rules and regulations as described in the company handbook;
  • Must adhere to the company uniform policy;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • A valid driver’s license is required;
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy items up and down stairs;
  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions. Basic, proficient math skills are needed to carry out measurements;
  • Must be able to spend a significant amount of time outside in all weather conditions;
  • Good hygiene and cleanliness is required at all times;
  • Electrician’s license and trade school degree are preferred;
  • Some overtime may be required;
  • Maintain a clean vehicle and make office aware of maintenance issues;
  • 5+ years of work experience as journeyman electrician (commercial/industrial only);
  • Motor controls/PLC experience;
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical code;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
