Experienced/Certified Service Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Experienced/Certified Service Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs;
- Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician;
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts;
- Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair;
- Keep shop area neat and clean;
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events;
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended;
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order;
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins;
- Other duties may be assigned;
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc;
- Notify Service Advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised;
- Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required;
- Must follow all company safety policies and procedures;
- Document work performed.
Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required;
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality;
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment;
- Enjoy working in a dynamic environment;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment;
- Basic Computer skills;
- A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair;
- Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies;
- ASE Certification required;
- Used car experience preferred;
- Subaru/Mitsubishi Experience Preferred;
- ASE Certification or Ford certifications required;
- Experience working on Domestic & Foreign Vehicles;
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
