Master Automotive Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Master Automotive Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist other technicians in performing technical activities;
- Ability to accurately diagnose transmission problems, TCM, PCM, Solenoids, electrical issues;
- Maintain an organized work environment;
- Transmission Removal and Installation;
- Continuously learn new information and techniques, including cross training of POS software;
- Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools;
- Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds;
- Drive manual transmission vehicles;
- Efficiently navigate a computer;
- Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head;
- Walk/stand for the majority of the workday;
- Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle’s needed repair;
- Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment;
- Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspection to service writers and technicians;
- Professionally record findings so that repairs costs are accurately estimated.
Requirements:
- Be proficient with schematics and flowcharts;
- ASE/INDUSTRY/AAMCO Certifications are preferred but not required (we can get you there);
- Appropriate Diagnostic tools necessary for service performed;
- Ability to communicate solutions to others;
- Current driver’s license;
- Ability to multi-task;
- Must be punctual and bring a positive attitude to work everyday;
- Experience troubleshooting and conducting both mechanical and electrical diagnostics, including drivability testing;
- Minimum of 15+ years’ experience working as a professional automotive technician;
- ASE Certification required;
- Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment;
- Appropriate Automotive Master tools necessary for service performed;
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
