Automotive Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Automotive Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Inform customers about promotional products and services;
- Minimum of 3+ Years working as a Major R&R Technician;
- Maintains strict adherence to dealership policy on client vehicle care and operation;
- Provides labor time estimates to the Service Advisor;
- Carrying out efficient and effective diagnosis, service and repair to customers vehicles;
- Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation;
- Undertake a wide range of servicing and repair work on vehicles;
- Strong verbal communication skills;
- Maintain equipment and comply with on the job safety standards;
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately;
- Keeps shop equipment in pristine condition by following operating and safety instructions at all times;
- 401k available;
- Performs general mechanical repairs * Perform scheduled maintenance services on vehicles;
- Incentive based pay program;
- Must be able to work in environmental test chambers with Temperature ranges from -40C to 50C.
Requirements:
- 4+ current and valid ASE certifications required;
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality;
- Able to read and write in English;
- ASE Certifications;
- Strong automotive background is preferred;
- Previous exhaust, primary and advanced fuel ignition, electrical, air conditioning, computer systems, and power-train management systems experience;
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service;
- Judgment/Decision Making Skills;
- Must have valid Drivers License- Class C;
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles;
- AS degree in Automotive Technology as well as ASE certification are highly desirable and financially rewarded, but not required;
- 3+ years of experience as an automotive technician working on German cars;
- Automotive Certificate, ASE certification are highly desirable and financially rewarded, but not required;
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Submit to and successfully complete Motor Vehicle Report, background check, and pre-employment drug screen;
- Automotive Technology Certificate or AS degree with some ASE certificates preferred, but not required.
