Bankruptcy Attorney Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Bankruptcy Attorney to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Attend hearings;
- Draft new bankruptcy cases;
- Advise clients on the different options available to them through bankruptcy;
- Meet with potential clients;
- Help manage cases from filing through discharge;
- Stay informed of developments in bankruptcy law;
- Request/approve drafts of various objections, pleadings, and motions;
- Respond to client questions via phone and email;
- Meet with existing clients to prepare for hearings;
- Candidate will be working on sophisticated Chapter 11 matters.
Requirements:
- Court appearances, and some attendant travel, will be required;
- The candidate must be familiar with the Texas legal system, and demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to draft and file pleadings in TX bankruptcy courts is required;
- Knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and local rules, and ability to maintain compliance with each, is required;
- The candidate must exhibit a commitment to superior client service and be willing to actively develop relationships in the industry;
- Will consider candidates in either Dallas-Fort Worth or Houston;
- The candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in bankruptcy;
- DE Admitted and in good standing.
