In-House Counsel Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a In-House Counsel to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Developing policies, standards, training curriculum, and operational requirements for every Veyo market to ensure compliance and mitigate risk;
- Oversight of contract management and operational compliance;
- Expert understanding of local, state, and national for-hire regulatory environments, risks, and impact to operations;
- Review and provide guidance on new customer, vendor, and other contracts;
- Handles other matters as part of the P&C Legal team, as needed;
- Manage outside counsel relationships, billing, and accountability;
- Identify current and upcoming legal, regulatory and related compliance risk;
- Ensure all claims are appropriately substantiated and documentation maintained;
- Manage litigation processes working with outside counsel;
- Ensure compliance of ingredients, labels, claims and communication with external regulations and Califia Standards.
Requirements:
- Strong analytical, organizational and coordination skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required;
- Experience drafting agreements is preferred but not required;
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization;
- Prior experience with litigation is helpful, but not required;
- Ability to problem solve and to provide practical, risk-based advice;
- Legal degree required;
- Able to travel up to 10%
- Excellent academic credentials, including a JD from an accredited law school and active license to practice law;
- The level and title of this position will be commensurate with experience;
- Ability to work independently and in a team;
- Must possess a deep understanding and knowledge of healthcare compliance, regulations, laws, and standards;
- Able to exercise sound judgment and initiative;
- Clear and concise communications;
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
