Our company is looking for a Environmental Planner to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to produce figures and maps for environmental and transportation planning studies;
  • Conducts surveys and public outreach;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Assisting the client in preparing environmental permit application materials and agency notification packages;
  • Assists in proposal development activities;
  • Develop and implement EHS compliance assurance programs including procedures, plans, permit applications, training, and reports;
  • Support Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects;
  • Assists in developing environmental compliance and planning documents;
  • Assists in public engagement efforts including comment review and analysis;
  • Ensure quality standards on project deliverables;
  • Performs generalized studies under direction of supervisor;
  • Providing reports of work sites inspections and review documentation to evaluate environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance;
  • Gathers, maintains, analyzes information and prepares data;
  • Evaluate the eligibility of disaster-related damages, facilities, work and costs;
  • Provide support in delivering high quality work products to Stantec’s multi-disciplinary project teams.

Requirements:

  • Working proficiency with GIS mapping, including use of ArcMap;
  • Ability to work independently, productively, and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines and stakeholders;
  • Applicable TxDOT Precertification’s for Wetland Delineation and Biological Surveys;
  • Experience with TxDOT NEPA process and environmental toolkits;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Successful completion of wetland delineation course;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Experience in development of proposals and evaluating RFPs;
  • Experience with Remix and/or scenario planning tools;
  • Knowledge of and experience with principles and practices of research and data collection;
  • Strong written and visual communications skills;
  • Master’s degree in transportation planning or planning;
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite;
  • No convictions or criminal history (including DUIs);
  • Understanding of NEPA and other environmental laws.
