Our company is looking for a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster new client relationships and strengthen existing client relationships;
  • Take initiative to resolve problems and identify improved procedures to assure client needs are met effectively;
  • Contribute to expanding SWCA’s professional reputation in environmental consulting;
  • Provide strategic environmental regulatory support on multidisciplinary projects;
  • Develop and execute client and public presentations to governmental agencies, boards and commissions and stakeholders;
  • Supervise and manage professional development opportunities for direct reports; and,
  • Write and manage various sections of CEQA/NEPA environmental documents and review/edit other sections prepared by technical specialists;
  • Manage multi-disciplinary projects and project teams of SWCA staff and sub-consultants with large and complex projects;
  • Ensure that projects meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives;
  • Direct, manage and mentor an internal team of SWCA staff with diverse levels of experience and expertise.

Requirements:

  • Extensive working knowledge of federal and state laws (e.g., NEPA, NHPA, CWA, and ESA) governing natural resource management;
  • Previous environmental permitting experience;
  • Previous experience with staff and project team supervision;
  • Previous experience managing multiple complex projects and programs, in diverse settings and with changing requirements;
  • 5 years combined experience in project management, environmental consulting, or ecological, archaeological or geographical studies;
  • Desire to thrive in a highly collaborative team atmosphere;
  • Candidate should have extensive working knowledge of federal and California environmental regulations (e.g., CEQA, NEPA, NHPA, CWA, and ESA);
  • Experience and ability to manage multiple complex projects and programs, in diverse settings and with changing requirements;
  • Experience with staff and project team supervision and mentorship.
