DevOps Platform Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a DevOps Platform Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, support and troubleshoot automation tools;
- Enforce standardization of best practices in the security setup and DevOps implementation across teams;
- Work with infrastructure partners to deliver on server, network and database requirements;
- Communicate clearly with all levels of stakeholders to ensure deliverables are completed;
- Collaborate with and manage infrastructure and DBA resources;
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test and production environments;
- Provide environment and CI/CD support to project teams;
- Support releases up through production, including PVS, UAT, PFIX, Release & multi track dev and test environments;
- Support continued development and maturity of CI/CD pipeline and processes;
- Participate in production deployment and planning activities and provide feedback as applicable;
- Provide support to project and program leads, ensuring environment planning and delivery.
Requirements:
- Familiar with tools such as Selenium and DEVTEST, ESP, PUTTY;
- Windows IIS and Web Application setup, deployment and support experience;
- GIT – version management, branching, merging familiarity;
- Experience integrating with DBs such as Oracle, SQL Server, UDB;
- Understanding and efficiency in collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders;
- Understanding and focus on business outcomes;
- Data management skills;
- JBOSS EAP/WAS – deployment and configuration experience;
- 8-10 years of diverse work experience in IT with 6+ years of experience application management and DevOps;
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline;
- Comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment;
- Linux/Unix familiarity and scripting experience.
