Engineer 2 Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Engineer 2 to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot any issues and provide a root cause analysis, need to work with vendors if a fix is needed;
- Design a viable solution for cloud & big data related technologies to meet Enterprise standards;
- Develop scripts to automate Monitoring, Installation, Deployments;to mention a few but not limited;
- Developing automated methods for ingesting large datasets into an enterprise-scale analytical system using Sqoop, Spark and Kafka;
- Administering Amazon Cloud, Horton Works Hadoop, RedShift, Datameer, SaaS & Tableau;
- Provide support for disaster recovery planning and recommendations;
- Design, implement, document all aspects of Windows, VMware infrastructure;
- Deploy core virtualized management of the JCP virtual environment in an effort to continually build and solidify;
- Maintain scripts in PowerShell and python to help automate ESXi builds and management;
- Windows administration, AD, DNS, DHCP;
- Design, develop and deploy various monitoring solutions.
Requirements:
- Proficiency with Hadoop v2, MapReduce, HDFS;
- 5+ years of professional experience;
- 3+ years hands on experience on Linux/UNIX operating systems;
- 2+ years of experience withCloud,Big data technologiesandAnalytics;
- Provide Enterprise virtualization capability to install, configure and manage a highly available and scalable virtual infrastructure;
- Minimum 5 year’s experience with VMware virtualization stack in support of multiple operating systems;
- Symantec Veritas NetBackup and Appliance;
- 5+ Years of Experience supporting variety of routing and switching technologies;
- IBM TSM;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines or equivalent work experience;
- Good understanding of networking – routing, subnets, TCP, IP, Wireless and VLANs;
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture and associated protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and;
- EMC Data Domain;
- Knowledge of commonly used network concepts, protocols and topologies.
