Test Engineer II Job Description

Test Engineer II interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions. Being a Test Engineer II defines internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs. Documents and analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. Additionally, Test Engineer II ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards. May coordinate with vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components or other parts. Requires a bachelor’s degree of Engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Test Engineer II gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. To be a Test Engineer II typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Test Engineer II to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform work consistent with departmental SOPs;
  • Generate and execute verification and validation protocols;
  • Work with the interdisciplinary team to document product requirements and detailed specifications;
  • Generate and execute test plans and procedures;
  • Able to generate test cases using approved specifications.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail;
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide data to the design team;
  • Experience developing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in LabVIEW and familiar with “C” programming or similar programming languages;
  • Ability to understand the technical design of the system and evaluate specifications as needed;
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects;
  • Familiarity with Cognition Cockpit, Visio, TFS/VSTS;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical or Engineering Field;
  • Experience must include the development and execution of written hardware and software test procedures and documentation of the results;
  • SolidWorks and/or Altium experience is a plus;
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization;
  • Minimum of 3or more years of experience with board-, box-, and system-level electrical test or test equipment design/development and troubleshooting;
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner;
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment;
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally;
  • Ability to execute tasks from a project plan.
