Engineering Program Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Engineering Program Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Lay out of program development plan for each phase, and define deliverables & criteria with technical leads. Monitor progress, status and result;
- Ensure every team understands what they need to deliver at all times;
- Advocate and manage program implementation according to PayPal’s product lifecycle management;
- Ensure measurable KPIs are developed for the program, and that they align to the overall KPIs for the product;
- Grasp complex technical topics, abstract key issues and risks to present an action plan with outcomes to Engineering leadership;
- Define and manage process and regular meetings;
- Support the tracking and facilitating of the QA/test process;
- Create and manage clear Gating Criteria with business partners for Go/No-go decisions;
- Maintain awareness of cross product/program synergies and actively communicate opportunities to simplify or better align work across teams;
- Act as an advocate for internal customers throughout all stages of a project;
- An inherent bias to action;
- Support key decisions working cross-functionally across engineering, finance, and strategy to reach the right conclusions;
- Define launch strategy for new product capabilities including geographic scope and rollouts, detailed timing, ramp and analytics plan;
- Ensure regular, active communication with adjacent programs and external stakeholders, including international regions;
- Sharp business judgment, detail oriented yet able to always see the “big picture”.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of project planning and budgeting;
- Knowledge of the construction contractor or design consultant management role;
- Ability to manage multiple renovation projects simultaneously, through all phases from inception to completion;
- Skill in managing project teams, ability to act as the Gallery’s liaison with outside contractors and consultants;
- Prior experience working with contract manufacturers (CMs);
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, program management, or management consulting;
- An inherent bias to action;
- Drive teams of subject matter experts to consensus;
- Skillful with Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Visio a plus;
- Action tracking and implementation;
- Excel with verbal and written communications (technical papers and naval correspondence);
- BS or MS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills◦Process development and execution;
- Teambuilding and facilitation, able to coordinate and collaborate with clients from multiple disciplines;
- Progress metrics.
