Our company is looking for a Memory Care Director to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Rose Lane staff with on-going specialized Alzheimer’s and related Dementia training;
  • Participate in the assessment of prospective Residents;
  • Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all Resident Care Information to assure Resident rights are protected;
  • Encourage hobbies and crafts and provide materials in keeping with the Residents’ financial status and the departmental budget;
  • Attend mandatory in-services as defined by regulatory requirements;
  • Report all accidents/incidents immediately and complete in-house documentation;
  • Assist in the development of, and participation in, regularly scheduled orientation and in-service training programs;
  • Assist in maintaining a community newsletter with primary focus on Rose Lane Program;
  • Other duties as assigned by Resident Care Director / Executive Director;
  • Provide tours of the Community and assist with the move-in process as necessary;
  • Assist in all aspects of hiring, training, managing and scheduling of staff on Rose Lane unit to maintain quality care;
  • Participate in a rotation for weekend coverage and on call;
  • Maintain budgetary guidelines as established. Assist in the development of the annual budget as necessary;
  • Oversee and/or assist in the preparation and posting of a schedule of activities and keep the information boards current;
  • Assist in arranging transportation and escorts for field trips, appointments and to other residences whenever necessary.

Requirements:

  • Activities Director Certification, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Certified Dementia Practitioner, or other related Certifications;
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Recreation Therapy, Psychology, or a related field;
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred;
  • Valid driver’s license required;
  • Previous experience in Special Care units (minimum 5 years) preferably in assisted living setting (minimum 10 years);
  • Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) requirement;
  • Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in a Resident’s best interest;
  • Activity Director Certification (ADC) optional.
