Proposal Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Proposal Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures adherence to proposal development preparation guidelines, processes, methodologies, and associated business tools;
- Coordinates proposal layout and outlines with SMEs and technical writers;
- Manages RFIs/SSNs, task orders, IDIQ proposals, and other stand-alone proposals from $5M-$150M in value;
- Leads proposal process throughout proposal development life cycle, including kick off meetings, color reviews, and other required milestones;
- Analyzes requirements and ensures that proposals meet requirements;
- In coordination with the Proposal Coordinator, creates and maintains high-quality templates and process documentation;
- Manages proposal-specific content in Salesforce, SpringCM, and SharePoint content management repositories;
- The ability to conceptualize and create graphics, if qualified;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Review and interpret Government solicitation requirements;
- Work within tight deadlines and coordinate multiple corporate resources as well as subcontractors and customers;
- Provide leadership, guidance, outlines, schedules, and direction for all proposal stakeholders, as well as continual proposal process improvement;
- Write RFP responses as needed;
- Manage proposals of all sizes, from $5M to $100M+
- Execute IDIQ Task Order Response processes to deliver quick turn proposals using a streamlined approach.
Requirements:
- APMP Foundation level or better certified and Shipley Capture Management training or equivalent is a strong plus;
- Ability to foster good customer relationships to build client base;
- Less than 10%
- Effective multi-tasking and flexibility to meet competing needs and sensitive deadlines;
- Facilitate collaborative solution development sessions and graphics workshops to develop key proposal themes and messages;
- Establish and maintain the SharePoint collaboration site for each proposal;

- Lead and analyze RFI, RFQ, RFPs and other bid documents for requirements;
- Coordinate and support the production, reproduction, binding, and packaging in finalizing the proposal submission and response processes;
- Bachelor’s degree;
- A minimum of eight years related experience is required;
- Ability to work efficiently with direct reports, departments heads and subject matter experts across the organization;
- Travel occasionally for industry and government meetings – less than 10% travel anticipated;
- Detail oriented;
- A degree in a related field is preferred.
