Director of Proposal Management Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Director of Proposal Management to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coach proposal team personnel including proposal managers, proposal coordinators, technical writers, and graphic designers;
- Manage the development of Proposal Management Plans;
- Develop Color Team Review plans for internal evaluation;
- Create project schedules and present for internal review;
- Build proposal compliance matrices and track fulfillment of all requirements;
- Where necessary, compose compelling, easy-to-read proposal artifacts, particularly management volumes;
- Create and establish processes, procedures and departmental policies;
- Conduct analysis of original forecasted implementation support;
- Maintain and manage contracted proposal resources as needed;
- Act as subject matter expert on proposal processes, including Shipley, and maintain/update internal processes and procedures;
- Analyze RFP/bid requirements to develop proposal outlines;
- Complete project complexity matrix;
- Ensure relevant Color Team Review comments are incorporated into the proposal;
- Support Capture Management in win planning and strategy development;
- Coordinate with the Business Presidents, VPs and Business Developers to manage the pipeline, schedule and monitor proposal development activities.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of supervisory experience;
- Ability to communicate multi-step and interdependent activities effectively to proposal teams;
- High level of organization and time management with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects;
- PMP Certification preferred;
- 8+ years of experience developing complex Federal proposals and managing proposal teams;
- Subject matter expert in Shipley and similar industry standard bid and proposal management processes;
- Excellent writing and editing skills;
- Experience with orals presentations, coding challenges, and/or GSA FedSim-style responses highly preferred;
- Demonstrated history of leading winning proposal efforts;
- APMP Practitioner and/or Professional Certification (or equivalent) preferred;
- 5+ Years of Management Experience;
- 10+ years of related experience;
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Excellent communication, organizational, and inter-personal skills.
