Retail Operations Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Retail Operations Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and submits to management all required paperwork on a timely basis;
- Supports and executes all New Store Openings to Native Roots’ retail standards;
- Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with field support, recruiting, and client services;
- Thought leader and subject matter expert on both cannabis industry and general retail industry trends;
- Inspects company equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper maintenance;
- Builds and maintains a positive working relationship with management, clients, and customers;
- Ensure quality by training and developing Retail Supervisors on company process, policies, procedures and position responsibilities;
- Responsible for developing sales and unit forecasts to support annual budget planning;
- Understand and exercise the brand aesthetics expectations;
- Support IT by learning and executing system implementations and maintenance: audio, surveillance, POS, alarm, ADP, etc;
- Champion the retail supplies purchase program through budget allocation, standardization, and order management with each store;
- Conduct store visits, planned and unplanned, for operational reviews and audits;
- Identify positive and common practices across all stores and retire non-value added and unnecessary ones;
- Learn, embrace and coach store managers on lean operational concepts for company-wide improvement, long-term sustainment and growth;
- Maintain and grow the retail operations manual.
Requirements:
- Background in start-ups and high growth concepts;
- Passion for earrings, piercing, digital innovation, and community-building is a plus;
- A flexible spirit, adaptable to startup life and comfortable with white space;
- A zero-defect mentality;
- 3-5 years of retail management experience; experience with jewelry, piercing or a service or hospitality business is a plus;
- Ability to make tough decisions informed by both data and judgment;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills: insightful memos and presentations are extremely important;
- Have an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset;
- 5+ years’ experience in a high-volume, customer-centric retail environment;
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to make decisions quickly;
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire people through influence;
- Organizational leadership and influence without relying on hierarchy;
- Demonstrated record of driving profit through improving operations processes.
