Responsibilities:

  • Help with process, methods, and education;
  • Define creative solutions to business problems using advanced algorithms and models. Build and manage a high performing team;

  • Start and grow a high impact team of Data Scientists;
  • Apply modern machine learning methods to problems in reserving, marketing, and conversion;
  • Evolve iterative development process to drive timely Data Science outcomes and reinforce the test-and-learn culture;
  • Identify problem areas and develop plans to overcome any issues to ensure that the project of it is achievable;
  • Improve existing processes across the data science and actuarial organizations;

Requirements:

  • Experience in e-commerce, ticketing, or entertainment is preferred;
  • Minimum PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, etc. plus 4+ years’ experience;
  • Ability to understand risk implications of financial products;
  • Strong understanding of Quantitative Financial Analysis;
  • Understanding of Big Data architectures and solutions such as Spark, Hadoop and/or column-oriented SQL databases;
  • Well-versed in Python, R, SQL, statistical tools;
  • Passion and focus on execution with demonstrated ability to get things done;
  • Proven achievements of developing and managing products that have been successfully integrated in production systems;
  • Travel required within U.S. (5-25%);
  • Masters degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or quantitative methods (or equivalent years experience required);
  • Applied modeling and analytics experience in applicable industry;
  • Prior experience managing performers and managing managers;
  • Previous experience in an analytical leadership role;
  • Expert user of R, SAS, SPSS or equivalent analytic software;
  • Fluency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
