Portfolio Analyst Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and review corporate assets inventory databases within the region;
- Create and update financial reports and analysis of corporate assets;
- Assist to coordinate the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts;
- Prepare investment analysis’ for asset management team on respective properties;
- Generate and review monthly and quarterly reporting package consisting of financial statements and ad hoc schedules for the region;
- Track available supply, demand and competitors in various existing and targeted markets;
- Research and compile market trend, activity and competitor analysis data as needed;
- Monitor index changes and create test indices for trading; Ensure data integrity on index composition and portfolio holdings;
- Assist in ad hoc internal and external client requests;
- Work with Technology teams to analyze business issues and support the development of future state recommendations;
- Assist in preparing portfolio attribution reports and assist in other ad hoc department projects;
- Proactive management and communication of variance analysis, trend analysis & identifying portfolio related risk and opportunities;
- Conduct research on corporate actions and/or index changes.
Requirements:
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to lead and influence without having positional authority;
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills;
- Must have good interpersonal skills and experience building positive working partnerships;
- Life sciences experience is preferred;
- 5+ years of cross-functional project, program or portfolio management experience;
- Working knowledge of project and portfolio management practices;
- Knowledge of Technical Operations related activities is a plus;
- Knowledge or experience with business case development and project scoring techniques;
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA and/or CFA preferred;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong foundation and knowledge of accounting and finance;
- Knowledge of agile management tools a plus (i.e Rally, Jira);
- Bachelor’s Degree required;
- 2+ years supporting large scale projects;
- 2-3 years prior financial/investment experience.
