Our company is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Expedites and devises alternative resourcing solutions to resolve backorders in a timely manner;
  • Works with Logistics, to ensure the best cost saving freight options;
  • Review data and provide feedback regarding significance of the data;
  • Learn and use various portals for effectively managing assigned tasks;
  • Effective communication with various departments and suppliers;
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned;
  • Utilizes procurement tools to manage bid/quote process and other administrative activities;
  • Responsible for Indirect Spend Daily Management;
  • Align on acceptable negotiation outcomes by engaging internal stakeholders;
  • Works within defined processes and procedures and may help determine appropriate approaches for change;
  • Builds and maintains relationships with strategic suppliers;
  • Proactively seek innovative ways to improve the procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels;
  • Own, document, communicate and gain buy-in for category strategies for spend under management;
  • Assists in the supplier selection process per sourcing strategies, including identifying and researching prospective suppliers;
  • Full understanding of the “One Procurement” strategies. Strong knowledge and project work across multiple categories that impact the team positively.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to maintain large amounts of data;
  • 3-5 years of procurement experience;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required;
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, advanced Excel capabilities;
  • Detail oriented;
  • On occasion must be able to lift 25 pounds;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Moderate knowledge of standard procurement processes (i.e., purchase requisitions, purchase orders, SOWs, etc.) required;
  • Knowledge of planning, scheduling, and program control as well as authoring, administering, terminating, and closing out awards;
  • Ability to complete price and cost analysis;
  • Experience with Government Procurement Principles including experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations is preferred but not mandatory;
  • Category experience desirable;
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly & concisely convey information through verbal communication;
  • Knowledge of common shipping methods and general requirements required;
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and business software. Excellent oral/written communications. Strong analytical aptitude.
