Our company is looking for a Scientist, Downstream Process Development to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare process development reports and tech transfer documents;
  • Development of purification processes for novel proteins expressed in a variety of microbial and fungal hosts;
  • Design experiments, discuss experimental plan, analyze data and provide a summary and further suggestion;
  • Troubleshoot analytical methods to quantify yield, activity, and purity at various stages of the manufacturing process;
  • Prepare presentations for either team or client meetings;
  • Independently perform experiments and provide guidance to junior level laboratory staff.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge and skills for viral vector or vaccine purification is a plus;
  • Experience performing economic analyses of chemical separations processes;
  • Direct experience with scale-up, piloting, and technology transfer to 3 rd -party organizations;
  • Must be a self-starter, motivated, scientifically curious, and collaborative;
  • Experiences of large scale GMP manufacturing and GXP compliant documentation is preferred;
  • Experience specifying, designing, and troubleshooting new equipment at laboratory and pilot scale;
  • Quantitative, data-driven analysis of experimental results and an analytical mind-set;
  • Driven to achieve results that create value for the Company;
  • Ability to effectively work in cross-disciplinary teams and manage multiple work flows;
  • Strong organizational skills and detailed documentation abilities are required;
  • Advanced degree in biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or related area is preferred;
  • Hands-on experience of AKTA purification system or equivalent system is required;
  • Hands-on experience with the operation and development of Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) units is required; preferably using the SciLog system;
  • Ability to effectively work in cross-disciplinary teams and manage multiple workflows;
  • Flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.
