Our company is looking for a Scientist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and implement technical advances in order to develop and improve assays for spatially-resolved genomic profiling;
  • Maintain and update laboratory notebooks;
  • Contribute to the company’s intellectual property portfolio by documenting results and filing for IP protection;
  • Respond to spills per CP 030-0202 Chemical Spill Response;
  • Provide guidance to other members of the team in the field of cell biology;
  • Drives for creative problem solving and quickly identifies roadblocks for quick resolution;
  • Allocates time and resources efficiently, effectively prioritizes, and continually seeks ways to improve individual and corporate efficiency;
  • Process Optimization: develop new assay chemistries with the goal of minimizing cost and turnaround time while maintaining accuracy;
  • Follows product development lifecycle process and design control;
  • Presents data at technical meetings;
  • Coordinates multiple global sites to plan, schedule, and execute on late stage development, verification, transfer and validation activities;
  • Maintaining accurate records, writing reports, and preparing/giving presentations;
  • Understanding of sample preparation microfluidics on the GeneXpert platform;
  • Provide guidance and supervise junior research associates;
  • Lentiviral transduction techniques for ORF-overexpression experiments or RNAi and CRISPR-Cas9 knockdown/knockout experiments.

Requirements:

  • Experience culturing different mammalian brain cell types including human iPSCs, immortalized cells, and primary cells;
  • Experience developing and optimizing scientific protocols or Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate novel scientific approaches in order to address a target experimental goal or hypothesis;
  • 2 years of laboratory experience (academia or industry);
  • Lifting;
  • Hands-on experience with in-situ molecular biology protocols (immunohistochemistry or FISH) is a plus, single-cell genomics background preferred;
  • Medical device and/or in vitro Diagnostic product launch experience is highly preferred;
  • Be highly goal-oriented, self-driven and organized, and be able to thrive in an atmosphere of shifting demands and priorities;
  • Practical knowledge of design control and development of IVD assays for a regulated market;
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience performing nucleic acid extraction/purificaiton;
  • Data and Statistical Analysis;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload;
  • Ph.D. with working experience in the life science industry; or Master’s degree with significant experience in the life science industry;
  • Mammalian cell culture and isolation.
