Senior Data Scientist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Working in a highly-collaborative environment with other experts in data science and engineering;
- Experimentation infrastructure including tools for configuring and launching experiments, dashboard, live marketplace monitoring, and diagnosis;
- Build, improve and maintain the data pipelines that enable Data Science to deliver insight at scale to cross-functional partners;
- respond quickly to questions/challenges to dashboardresults;
- Identifying new opportunities to leverage our data asset;
- Explore and build new tools to model, test, and drive innovation across our business and customer experiences;
- Meticulous experimentation to evaluate and compare models;
- Present findings in client-facing settings or to other external partners as needed;
- Building data processing pipelines to quickly iterate on research ideas and put them into production;
- Find new and unique data-first solutions in our industry to business operations, ground operations, and engineering problems;
- Communicate key analytic findings within the business and to senior stakeholders;
- Develop predictive algorithms across different areas with the aim of better understanding our customer and our business;
- Be part of our research team to provide both client feedback and analysis to help guide data driven decisions to improve our products;
- Communications : Build and manage relationships with campus partners, develop a deep understanding of problems and present solutions;
- Lead a team of data scientists in the development of multiple analytic efforts.
Requirements:
- Advance analytics in R, Python, or Julia;
- Experience with data mining techniques;
- Strong coding skills in one or more of Python, R, C/C++, Java, Scala, C#
- Comfortable working in a Linux environment;
- Experience in data collection and annotation;
- Bachelors degree in Data Science or related field with 5+ years in a Data Scientist type role;
- Ability to code and develop prototypes in languages such as Python, Perl, Java, C;
- Experience in working with statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, MatLab, R, CART, etc;
- Comfortable performing independent research to support analytics decisions as part of the product lifecycle;
- Great communication and presentation skills;
- Experience with big data – Cloud data warehouses, cluster computing, Spark, MapReduce/Hadoop;
- Demonstrated analytic agility;
- Demonstrated good proficiency / publication record in one or more of the following areas;
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work across functions and influence senior leaders;
- Experience visualizing complex data insights using ggplot2 in R or seaborn/matplotlib in Python.
