Our company is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Team Project Manager;
- Successfully collaborate with subject matter experts;
- Successfully collaborate with product teams during development cycles (in the US and abroad);
- Establish subject matter expertise about a given product and best practices for using the product;
- Deliver top quality, thorough product documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences;
- Own and maintain a customer-facing Knowledge Base;
- Technical documentation;
- Drive documentation planning with engineering and support teams;
- Author, edit, test, and deliver content for on-premises and cloud environments that have frequent updates;
- Contribute to information architecture, internal development processes, and help manage documentation development tools;
- Analyze data to determine, recommend, and plan new processes in the technical writing function to drive quality and efficiencies;
- Produce, review, and revise such documents as: Statements of Work (SOW’s);
- Collaborate with fellow writers, engineers, product managers, and UX designers to develop clear and concise technical content;
- Write deployment and configuration guides, user guides, API and command references, tutorials, walkthroughs, and best practices guides;
- Prioritize documentation requests from multiple teams.
Requirements:
- Excellent written communication and grammatical skills;
- Proficiency with structured authoring principles and tools (DITA or other XML-based standards);
- Knowledge and background in network security and or cloud computing environments is a plus;
- Experience with the software development life cycle and agile processes is a plus;
- Experience interviewing technical subject matter experts and business/project managers, and in creating technical documents with 90% accuracy;
- A portfolio of excellent and elegant technical writing samples;
- Knowledge of Ad obe RoboHelp and FrameMaker (or similar help and doc authoring tools) and graphics capture/editing applications;
- Experience with enterprise-level system documentation;
- Requires extensive experience in working with solicitation/acquisition documents such as PWS and SOWs;
- Knowledge and experience in CBRN material as well as an understanding of the hazards associated with their manufacture, transport and use;
- Ability to obtain high-level clearance and DHS suitability clearance;
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent;
- Video tutorial creation (Camtasia), and/or proficiency developing illustrations (Adobe illustrator or PowerPoint) is a plus;
- Mininumu of five years of technical writing experience;
- Master’s degree or equivalent.
