Facilities Supervisor supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Oversees staff that installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a Facilities Supervisor tracks facilities service requests and ensures requests are completed within established timelines and quality standards. Our company is looking for a Facilities Supervisor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with the Purchasing Assistant and other Admin staff to properly receive and deliver mail, supplies and materials;
  • Coordinating daily courier services to all facilities;
  • Supervises one non-exempt level employees and oversees the work of contractors and subcontractors performing facility maintenance and repair work;
  • 20%:Coordination of day to day facilities activities with manufacturing management and other internal clients;
  • 20%:Ensures quality of work and provides on-site expertise;
  • Responsible for plant utility systems including plant steam, condensate, wastewater, biowaste, gasses, and other building related systems;
  • Facilitates execution and ensures effectiveness of the operational monitoring of the Production Plant and GMP Warehouse;
  • Provide supervision, training and guidance to the crew of shift facility mechanics;
  • Coordinate and supervise visits from outside contractors and building inspectors;
  • Initiates cost savings or revenue producing ideas;
  • Thoroughly understands, reviews and controls a smooth flow of all aspects of practice and practice operations;
  • Responsible for 24/7 utilities operations and production support on the manufacturing plant and GMPwarehouse;
  • Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs to buildings Inspect building structures and systems to determine need for repair;
  • Leads in the installation, maintenance, and repair of designated campus building systems;
  • Obtains telephone/written estimates and quotes of materials and equipment needed for repairs and the completion of job tasks using various forms.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of project management techniques;
  • Good manual dexterity;
  • Incumbent should be able to climb a ladder, reach, bend, and lift loads up to 50 lbs;
  • Good knowledge of Plant utilities and process equipment and systems;
  • Incumbent should be medically cleared to wear respiratory protection;
  • Good communication skills and ability to provide training and supervision to the shift mechanics;
  • Incumbent must possess a valid MA driver’s license;
  • 5-10 years experience with a biopharmaceutical company;
  • Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes;
  • Recognizes an emergency situation and takes appropriate action;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Able to establish and maintain a cooperative working relation;
  • Must have supervisory experience;
  • Associates degree is required;
  • Proficient in equipment repair and preventative maintenance.
