Our company is looking for a Legal Secretary to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, create and update various attorney documents such as docket sheets and case file logs;
  • Provide administrative support (mailing, copying, scanning, faxing, typing, filing, etc.);
  • Ability to draft correspondence and documents with minimal direction and supervision;
  • Coordinating lawyers’ calendar and case docket;
  • Tracking time and expenses;
  • Handle overflow for other groups;
  • Calendaring;
  • Edit and redline legal documents;
  • Handle correspondence with clients;
  • E-filing;
  • Time entries- billing matters;
  • Time entries using Billing Matters;
  • Coordinating meeting times and logistics with internal and outside parties;
  • Scheduling appointments, meetings and travel for individuals and teams of attorneys,
  • Researching and obtaining a wide variety of information or documents requested by attorneys and/or paralegals using online or other research tools.

Requirements:

  • Open to supporting multiple attorneys at the same time with various projects;
  • Must be willing to work overtime if needed;
  • Opening, organizing, and maintaining files in an exceptional, efficient, and effective manner;
  • Exceptional professional writing and communication skills when interacting with court staff, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries, and clients;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills;
  • Knowledge of court and law office litigation rules and procedures;
  • 3+ years of legal secretary or related experience;
  • Ability to communicate and handle stressful situations in a professional, calm, courteous manner;
  • Excellent grammar, proofreading, transcription and organizational skills required;
  • Proficient in MS Office with strong typing skills;
  • E-billing experience, Elite preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or related field preferred;
  • Exceptional secretarial skills including typing, proof reading, spelling and grammar;
  • 2+ years of Legal Assistant experience;
  • Detail oriented.
