Litigation Legal Secretary Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Litigation Legal Secretary to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Looking for a self-starter who can prioritize, problem solve, and work well within a team atmosphere;
- Detail-oriented, computer savvy, able to multi-task and work under pressure;
- Prepare pleadings and other litigation documents to be served and/or filed with the court;
- Prepare litigation documents to be served and/or filed with the court;
- Reviewing and editing Correspondence and Pleadings;
- Updates associates regarding receipt and status of tasks and consistently meet agreed upon deadlines;
- Managing attorney’s calendar and deadlines;
- Electronic Filing with the State and Federal Courts utilizing PACER;
- Follows FAST leader’s direction on day-to-day responsibilities and best practices;
- Attends training as needed to ensure adequate support for assigned associates;
- Functions as mentor to entry-level team secretary as needed;
- Electronic Filing;
- Entering data to maintain accurate records and keep attorneys files organized;
- Scheduling;
- You will also work with the legal dept. and office manager on various special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Need someone that is a problem solver and can help guide the litigation process throughout each phase;
- Must have e-filing experience both State & Federal;
- Minimal lifting up to 20 lbs;
- Typing of 70 WPM preferred;
- Basic grammar, punctuation and spelling skills required;
- Adaptable, proactive and reliable;
- Able to communicate professionally with legal staff, departmental staff and clients;
- 2-3 years of SOLID working experience as a legal secretary, legal admin, etc;
- Excellent communication skills (written reports/analysis and oral presentation);
- Strong literacy in MS computer programs;
- Good organizational skills;
- fluent in a second language is a PLUS;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Energetic, Personable & able to prioritize assigned duties;
- Ideal candidate will have real estate background.
