Medical Front Desk Receptionist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Patient customer service both in person and over the phone;
- Answering and routing phone calls;
- Track patient charges; file claims;
- Provide outstanding assistance to incoming patients;
- Inventory and order needed supplies;
- Scheduling;
- Patient admissions;
- Manage voice mail and phone forwarding after hours;
- Monitor patient wait times and customer satisfaction;
- Conduct appointment reminders;
- Handle all medical record requests to include social security, disability, and attorney requests;
- Insurance Verification of Benefits by utilizing online tools and phone;
- Maintain waiting room cleanliness and appearance;
- Adhere to check-out procedures, including the scheduling of procedures and follow-ups, generating receipts, patient statements, and ledgers;
- Must be able to understand patient accounts and explain billing information to patients.
Requirements:
- Organized and able to conduct oneself in accordance with employee manual;
- Knowledgeable about health insurance, pre-authorization, insurance verification, medical terminology, CPT codes and ICD-9 codes;
- Must have a team mentality, flexibility and willingness to learn;
- Medical Practice experience;
- Technologically savvy;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public;
- Candidates without experience will not be considered;
- Must have at least 2 years of Medical Receptionist Experience;
- G Suite experience is a plus but not required;
- A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical office; two to five preferred;
- EMR and Microsoft Office skills;
- G Suite experience is a plus;
- Able to stay on task while performing multiple duties;
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent;
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
