Our company is looking for a Automation Controls Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems;
  • Design and implementation of automated roll-to-roll control systems;
  • Support mechanical design engineers with R&D control systems;
  • Perform and monitor troubleshooting of defective equipment and systems to determine root cause analysis to correct problems;
  • Implement projects and modifications to improve thru-put of automation equipment;
  • Scripting for batch computation off of PLC;
  • Maintain comprehensive technical subject matter expertise (SME) of automated material handling systems and technology specifications;
  • Design and draft electrical panel layouts for automation equipment;
  • Able to travel and work at our nationwide plant locations as required (up to 50%);
  • Utilize the Computerize Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to manage and improve Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) and spare parts usage;
  • Maintains a high focus on providing excellent customer service to our internal and external customers;
  • Servo, actuator and robotics control;
  • Trouble-shoot automated material handling equipment (i.e., motors, scanners, VFDs, photoeyes, encoders, etc.) and other electrical control equipment;
  • Review and evaluate vendor technical proposals to ensure they meet functional and technical requirements and participate in vendor selection process;
  • Bottom-to-top automation controls design and implementation for new equipment and improvement of automated manufacturing equipment.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to learn and grow;
  • Have good arithmetic skills;
  • Understanding of electrical assembly and wiring;
  • 3+ years of hands on experience in Automation Controls Engineering or similar field;
  • Available to work various shifts;
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented mind set;
  • Capable of following verbal and written instructions;
  • Understand and follow company policy as stated in the employee handbook;
  • PLC and HMI programming experience;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment;
  • Pass written and driving forklift exam;
  • Knowledge of in hydraulics , pneumatics , programmable logic controllers , electrical circuits , electrical machinery and human-machine interfaces ;
  • Be able to read;
  • Independent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills and develop new technology;
  • Experience in electrical and pneumatic schematic design.
