CNC Programmer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a CNC Programmer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Records and maintains the established processes to ensure only authorized and documented changes are made;
- Maintain safe & organized work area;
- Schedule maintenance of mills and lathes;
- Ability to read, understand, & interpret blueprints (GD&T);
- Program machines accordingly and adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality;
- Ability to run his/her own programs on the machine for first article;
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality;
- Set up a mill or lathe;
- Create new programs and modify existing programs to improve processes;
- Excellent communication with project manager to maintain an efficient production flow;
- Update CNC programs and manufacturing processes to optimize machine lead times;
- Create, modify and optimize programs using Gibbs CAD/CAM Software;
- May set-up for and instruct machine Operators;
- Consult with machine operators to check and ensure that new programs are functioning properly and meet expectations;
- Perform maintenance according to the defined schedule.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks;
- Candidate should have 3 years of relevant experience;
- To work with management team to help drive performance of location;
- Minimum of 3 years experience with G&M Code programming;
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience using MasterCam;
- Knowledge of manufacturing and machining practices;
- Understand software development principles;
- Experience creating and/or editing 3DCAM files;
- Minimum of 3 years experience programming CNC Lathes and/or Mills using MasterCam, GibbsCAM or Partmaker;
- Translates information skilfully;
- 3-5 years CNC Programming;
- Personal tools;
- Ability to read blueprints;
- You must have outstanding punctuality and attendance;
- Know how to Produce blueprints from solid models.
