CNC Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a CNC to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operation;
- Update CNC programs and manufacturing processes to optimize machine lead times;
- Recognize, report and correct errors;
- Programming CNC;
- Mount, install, align and secure tools, attachments, fixtures and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments;
- Program editing;
- May set-up for and instruct machine Operators;
- Stack or load finished items, or place items on conveyor systems;
- CNC Operation;
- Calculate machine speed and feed ratios, and the size and position of cuts;
- Set up with Fanuc Controls;
- Working with decimals and fractions;
- Generate setup instructions and machine tools lists for operators;
- Insert control instructions into machine control units to start operation;
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
Requirements:
- Able to pass measurement test;
- Team player;
- 3+ years of set up and operation;
- Accurate measurement skills;
- Strong computer skills;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Basic machine maintenance;
- Accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training (2 year degree);
- Able to troubleshoot;
- 5+ years of set up/operation and basic editing experience;
- Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations;
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications;
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles;
- 4+ years of Machine operation;
- Able to stand for the shift.
