Manufacturing Test Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Set-up and conduct interferometric testing of reflective and refractive optical assemblies;
- Provide technical direction during integration and assembly operations;
- Interface with customer throughout length of job, from quote to final acceptance;
- Support of Business Development/Marketing in proposal development and job quoting;
- Design of assembly and test plans and fixtures.
Requirements:
- Providing technical know-how and training for production test operators and technicians on test system operation, and maintenance;
- Ability to read and understand engineering documentation (e.g. requirements, specifications, schematics, etc.);
- Must be proficient using spreadsheets to aid analysis, using MS office tool kit;
- Understand and know how to apply software design patterns;
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent required;
- Ability to integrate and work well in a team environment; strong verbal presentation and written communication skills;
- Conducts root cause investigation of customer complaints, and then proposes and executes effective countermeasures to prevent future problems;
- Know the basics of multithreading;
- Working knowledge of Design for manufacturability and serviceability (DFM/S), and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA);
- Investigates, analyzes, develops, and determines processes and process improvements for new and existing products;
- Demonstrated lean thinking in a production environment/ Management of multiple priorities dynamically with little direct supervision;
- Thoroughly documenting all test hardware requirements, system configuration, and software operations;
- Working knowledge of PCBA design, troubleshooting potential failures, and driving to root cause;
- Configuring hardware and operating environments as needed to accomplish product testing requirements;
- Good understanding of electro-mechanical assembly and processes.
