Our company is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop proficiency in several programming languages and control device networks for PLCs, PCs, or DCS systems;
  • Interacts with customers to gain an understanding of the business environment. Defines scope, plans and deliverables for assigned work;
  • Work successfully in a matrix structure; focused strongly on customer service and personal growth;
  • Develop and evaluate alternative system solutions that meet stated requirements;
  • Modifies program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems;
  • Provide application/control systems design and development for systems of varying complexity;
  • Development of Software Functional Specifications (SFS);
  • Support equipment programming for manufacturing, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, and support programming of robots;
  • Develop our next generation controls architecture to intelligently coordinate RNA synthesis and Cellular Engineering;
  • Provide technical leadership and drive best practices in controls, electrical engineering, and industrial automation;
  • Ensure production is continuous by maintaining and implementing electrical control systems;
  • Troubleshoot and upgrade existing equipment to new equipment design and implementation;
  • Interpret control requirements from customer specifications and develop technical requirements for controls;
  • Own the controls software/hardware product lifecycle and lead instrumentation and control systems engineering projects.

Requirements:

  • Have solid verbal and written communication skills;
  • 7+ years work experience in industrial controls and system integration with a strong focus on software design and programming;
  • Experience successfully interacting and working with customers at multiple levels of responsibility in a manufacturing or production environment;
  • Rockwell ControlLogix PLC Programming experience;
  • Networking experience including – EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet;
  • Material handling or process control design, development, and troubleshooting experience;
  • Allen Bradley experience and a strong electrical background is required;
  • Experience with B&R machine automation and control platform is a must. Knowledge of other platforms, i.e. Siemens, Beckhoff, Bosch Rexroth is a plus;
  • Some project management experience is required;
  • BS or MS in electrical, mechanical engineering, robotics or relevant field;
  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • Experience using, installing, and troubleshooting vision systems;
  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks (Powerlink, EtherCAT, Profinet etc.);
  • Self-motivated, capable of setting and reaching ambitious goals;
  • Must be proficient with Electrical Controls principles and programming software.
