Our company is looking for a Sr. Automation Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation;
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;
  • Be exposed to noisy environments;
  • Own and deliver test automation scripts in service to our core revenue offering product features;
  • Travel to customer site membrane to conduct system I/O checks, pre-commissioning start up and final full commissioning of membrane systems;
  • Provide both written and verbal status reports on projects as required/requested;
  • Monitor quality in production and non-production environments;
  • Maintain and update automated test systems as functionality changes evolve the products;
  • Solves complex automation challenges and works on complex projects with minimal supervision;
  • Works with Agile teams to understand end-to-end system functionality;
  • Lead validation projects, prepare documentation, and support existing systems;
  • Mastery of robotic liquid handling systems for laboratory processing of synthetic DNA, cells, and reagents. NGS experience a plus;
  • Work Independently to help build Test automation framework and develop automation scripts;
  • Maintain a professional attitude and working relationship with colleagues and customers;
  • Attend both on site and off site training sessions and/or meetings as required or requested.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and writing skills, very organized, and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment;
  • Knowledge of AJAX, HTTP, REST, XML, JSON and SQL technologies;
  • Experience with instrumentation used for PCR, cell-based cloning, mini-prep extraction, and purification is desirable;
  • Experience with sample tracking software and developed interfaces between robotic instrumentation and LIM systems;
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies;
  • Excellent scientific computation and data analysis capabilities;
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Bio-engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field & 5+ years relevant industry experience;
  • Code craftsmanship; rigor in high code quality, automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber), and agile engineering best practices;
  • Ability to excel in dynamic fast paced business environments, demonstrated ability to self-motivate and manage multiple priorities;
  • 5+ years experience in operating and programming robotic liquid handlers from third party vendors such as Hamilton and Tecan;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field;
  • Good working knowledge of the Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Observability & Traceability;
  • Proven track record of translating assays from laboratory bench to stand alone workstations or integrated platforms.
