Leasing Agent Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Leasing Agent to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate community and apartment/model and apply product knowledge to clients’ needs by communicating the features and benefits; close the sale;
- Inspect models and available “Market Ready”, communicate related service needs to Property Manager;
- Establishes friendly and helpful working relationships with residents to gain their loyalty and promote resident referrals;
- Executes necessary marketing plan to drive prospect traffic;
- Accepts applications for residency and submit completed paperwork;
- Executes promotional and markdown activity on a timely basis and according to Company guidelines and directives;
- Timely and accurate reporting;
- Contacts residents 60 days prior to lease expiration and initiates renewals;
- Manage lease renewal process;
- Respond timely to all calls, emails and site visits;
- Ensure apartments are move-in ready by inspecting, and adding last minute touches when appropriate;
- Assist coworkers in office as needed and as availability allows;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Meet and exceed monthly leasing targets;
- Take on any projects or additional duties as requested.
Requirements:
- Good organizational skills;
- Persuasion: Skilled leasing agents must be convincing, enhance home/neighborhood features, and friendly to attract qualified tenants;
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred;
- Ability to walk steps and walk to show apartments and amenities of the community to prospects;
- Previous customer service experience is required; leasing and/or sales experience highly preferred;
- Ability to quickly develop rapport with prospective residents;
- Previous knowledge of Yardi property management software is preferred;
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally;
- Ability to work day, weekend, and evening hours as required;
- Real Estate Broker license preferred;
- Generally, no prior training is required. However, completion of in-house training in leasing is required within the first 90 days of employment;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Read and write in English fluently and accurately perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions;
- Strong administrative, computer skills;
- Prior property management experience required.
