Material Handler – 2nd Shift Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Material Handler – 2nd Shift to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- operating heavy equipment including cranes, forklifts, and processing machinery;
- Weigh, measure, check raw materials in accordance with work orders;
- Uses hand tools to open containers;
- Sorting and checking, inspection, coordinated rapid movement;
- Reads and follows work orders and/or oral instructions;
- Loads, unloads, and moves material (crates, boxes, and raw material) within or near plant, yard or work site;
- Full-time position;
- Temp-to-Hire;
- Kit parts and components; distribute to production lines with accuracy and maintain integrity of configured kits;
- Load and unload trailers that are going between our off-site Distribution Center and main site;
- Maintain training on SOPs, Policies, GMPs, OSHA guidelines and Safety Security & Environment guidelines;
- Check/verify, sign for inbound freight from suppliers, complete cleaning & labeling of materials;
- Ability and experience to use a RF scan gun to move and allocate material;
- EHS Responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud;
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. periodically during shift when necessary;
- High School Diploma/HSE strongly preferred, or 6+ months Zotos Geneva experience required;
- Must have dependable transportation to and from job site;
- 1-3 years’ Experience in role;
- The position is in the factory and could involve standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day;
- High School Diploma/HSE strongly preferred, or 6+ months Zotos Geneva experience required;
- Must enjoy working with others and taking direction when needed;
- Prior Warehouse experience a plus;
- Must be able to multi-task while prioritizing tasks;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Must be able to shift priorities easily;
- Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements;
- Must be able to use proper techniques to lift up to 75 pounds. The ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety is extremely important;
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
