HR Generalist - Employee Relations and Safety

The HR Generalist owns hands‑on HR operations with a strong emphasis on construction recruiting, employee relations, multistate compliance, safety, payroll ownership, and workers’ compensation. This position requires the ability to independently evaluate construction candidates and make informed hiring recommendations.

Overall Role Responsibilities Lead full‑cycle recruiting for construction and field service positions, including candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring recommendations.

Manage onboarding, new hire readiness, and workforce planning initiatives.

Serve as the primary HR resource for employee relations, coaching, performance management, investigations, corrective actions, and terminations.

Maintain HR compliance across multiple states, ensuring adherence to employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.

Own and manage the payroll process, including timekeeping review, payroll accuracy, coordination, and issue resolution.

Support benefits administration, OSHA compliance, safety programs, training initiatives, and incident reporting.

3–7 years HR Generalist experience

Proven ability to independently recruit, interview, and hire construction professionals

Preferred Qualifications Experience recruiting skilled trades, supervisors, or technicians

HRIS or ATS experience
