About OKO Rye Led by Chef Brian Lewis and part of Full House Hospitality Group, OKO in Rye, NY, is a Michelin Guide-recognized contemporary Japanese restaurant. We blend traditional Japanese techniques with seasonal, global influences, offering everything from precise sushi and tempura to inventive hot dishes. We are seeking passionate, disciplined, and growth-oriented Line Cooks to join our dedicated kitchen team.
Position Overview As a Line Cook at OKO, you will work in a fast-paced, high-standards scratch kitchen alongside an experienced culinary team. You will be responsible for executing station preparation, maintaining strict quality and consistency standards during service, and upholding proper sanitation and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Execute station prep and service responsibilities efficiently and accurately.
Maintain a pristine, organized, and health-code-compliant workspace.
Work collaboratively with back-of-house and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service.
Handle high-end seasonal ingredients with respect, precision, and care.
Adhere to recipe specifications, plating guidelines, and food safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 1–3 years of professional line cooking experience in quality-driven, high-volume restaurants.
A strong foundational knowledge of culinary techniques; experience with Japanese or upscale contemporary cuisine is a strong plus.
Strong knife skills and attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm, focused, and organized under pressure during peak service hours.
A team-first mentality, positive attitude, and a true passion for hospitality and great food.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
