Responsible for the collection/abstraction of the required department, state and national trauma data elements into the trauma registry database on all patients meeting trauma inclusion criteria. Maintains the confidentiality of registry data. Reports registry data for performance improvement activities and other internal and external requests. Collects and maintains data on continuing education for all trauma providers for compliance.

Reports registry data for performance improvement activities and other internal and external requests.

Collects and maintains data on continuing education for all trauma providers for compliance.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience coding and trauma registry

Bachelor's Degree preferred

Completion of ICD-10 coding program or equivalent experience

ICD9-CM/ICD 10-CM coding

Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes and clinical /therapeutic modalities

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
