Bookkeeper / Accounting with Property & Real Estate Management Company

A growing real estate investment and property management company is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join its accounting team. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and ensuring the timely processing of transactions across a diverse real estate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Record and maintain daily financial transactions for multiple properties and entities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable activities

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and operating accounts

Assist with tenant billing, rent collections, and security deposit tracking

Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting documentation

Prepare monthly financial reports and account reconciliations

Support month-end and year-end closing activities

Coordinate with property managers regarding expenses, vendor payments, and tenant account inquiries

Assist with audit requests and documentation preparation

Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies

Qualifications

2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

Experience working within the real estate, property management, construction, or related industry preferred

Proficiency with QuickBooks, Yardi, AppFolio, Sage, or similar accounting software

Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and account reconciliations

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Experience

Multi-entity accounting experience

Exposure to commercial and/or residential property accounting

Familiarity with CAM reconciliations, rent rolls, and tenant ledgers

Understanding of real estate financial reporting practices
