Registered Nurse Weekend Emergency Department Night Shift

The ED provides emergency services, ranging from minor injuries to critical and resuscitative care. Every second counts in an emergency - as an RN in this unit, you will use your comprehensive skills and expertise to ensure patients have the care they need quickly. You will have the support of your fellow caregivers assisting you, offering a cohesive, encouraging and constructive front to enhance the patient\'s experience and your skills as a nurse.

Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 3:00 p.m. - with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol
Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
