How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities) Drive hands-on materials characterization and testing to support energy technology development.
Evaluate material properties, microstructures, durability, using laboratory techniques such as optical microscopy, SEM/EDS, material testing, and related analytical methods.
Translate complex test results into clear engineering insights, recommendations, and technical reports that guide material selection, process improvements, and customer decisions.
Partner with engineering, manufacturing, R&D, and service teams to solve materials-related challenges and accelerate robust, reliable solutions for energy applications.
Advance lab capability, quality, and efficiency by improving test methods, maintaining strong documentation, and supporting safe, compliant laboratory operations.
Stay connected to emerging materials, characterization methods, and industry trends to bring fresh ideas and innovation into current and future energy technology programs.
What You Bring (requirements) Master's degree or higher in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; Hands-on experience in laboratory, test, or research environments supporting materials characterization, materials testing, R&D, product development, or failure analysis.
Strong technical foundation in microstructural characterization and materials analysis
Ability to connect material behavior, test data, and real-world operating conditions to develop practical insights for energy-related components, systems, and customer applications.
